Search Marketing Professional OMCP Preparatory Program

Here’s how pretty much everyone uses a search engine: we type in what we need and click on the first option that looks promising. That’s why companies will pay big bucks to someone that can help them be that first option.

With the Search Marketing Professional Concentration, you’ll start by learning the landscape of online marketing with the Foundations Course; then dive deep into your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) training. You’ll master keyword research, SEO copywriting, site architecture, link building, and local search optimization strategies - everything you need to know to complete an SEO project from start to finish. Combine that with generating the content that consumers are looking for, and you’ll have the skills to help any company rank successfully.

But getting users to your site is only half the battle. The next step is to have them purchase, register, fill out your form, and convert from visitors to customers. That’s the magic of Conversion Optimization. You’ll get a comprehensive overview of landing page optimization, with real-world examples of what works, what doesn't, and what steps you can take to test your theories.

This course qualifies graduates for OMCP® Certification.

“You need a team that is more well-rounded in all the different disciplines. . . Your content marketer should understand organic SEO.” - Bryan Eisenberg, Market Motive faculty and Author of Always Be Testing

“The Top New Marketing Job Title Recruited and Hired will be ‘Director of Content’” -  Jayson DeMers, Contributor at Forbes

“Content marketing is really about providing valuable information or content to current and potential customers for the purpose of building trust, branding, awareness, and positive sentiment. A successful content marketing campaign establishes you as an expert in your field, and that sets the groundwork for a long-term business relationship. Simply put, its primary focus is on building the relationship, not the hard sell.” - -  Jayson DeMers, Contributor at Forbes

Ads work best when the right message reaches the right audience at a time and place where they’re most receptive. So how do you make sure your ads end up in front of your target audience when and where they should?

With the Paid Search Professional Concentration, you’ll start by learning the landscape of online marketing with the Foundations Course; then dive deep into your targeted PPC training to make sure the ads you're paying for are bringing a return. You’ll come out the other side with a comprehensive, cross-discipline approach to designing, building, and maintaining PPC campaigns. Finally, you’ll get specialized training in specifics with short courses that dive deeper into the advertising opportunities of top social media channels.

When you can get the right message in front of the right people and help them to take the right actions, you’re right on track to becoming a huge asset for any company that advertises online.

“Remember, customers look at you as one singular brand. They want to feel that singularity throughout all their interactions with you. And unfortunately, if your PPC person is not considering social media etiquette or conversion psychology in their campaigns, if they’re not consistent in company voice or philosophy, they can break that trust.” - Bryan Eisenberg, Market Motive faculty and author of Always Be Testing

Landing Page Conversion & Digital Analytics Professional Concentration & Certification

So people are coming to your site - great! But as the saying goes, “you can’t take traffic to the bank.” You have to convert your traffic into customers, and measure what’s making that happen, so you can do it over and over again.

With the Landing Page Conversion & Digital Analytics, you’ll start by learning the landscape of online marketing with the Foundations Course; then dive into your Conversion Optimization training to learn how to keep visitors on your site, and compel them to convert. You’ll gain a comprehensive overview of landing page optimization that includes real-world examples of what works, what doesn't, and what steps you can take to test your theories.

But with data coming at you from multiple channels, it's not easy to know how to make sense of it all. Don’t despair; with Google’s Avinash Kaushik as your tutor you can become, as he says, “a ninja and not a squirrel.” Gain an in-depth understanding of KPIs, Segmentation, Reports, Experimentation, and a lot more as he brings clarity to the complex world of Web Analytics.

Companies spend a lot of money on their online marketing; and it’s all for nothing unless the people that come to their site become customers. If you know how to convert quality traffic into happy customers, and can use analytics to explain what’s working and how to repeat it, you’ll be a huge asset any data driven company.

“Make sure that analytics are installed and done correctly, and that what you're tracking is really what you should be tracking. That's kind of the lynchpin of most things in marketing, making sure you’re accountable and can track your progress.” - Todd Malicoat, SEO Consultant and Market Motive faculty

“Analytics is the lynchpin… it helps to determine what performs the best. Not that we’re making it a competition, but everybody is vying for budget. As managers get proficient at a single channel, they’ll begin to incorporate more of the other disciplines. PPC needs the budget, SEO needs the budget, everybody needs the budget. So you have to be accountable and track your performance.” - Todd Malicoat, SEO Consultant and Market Motive faculty
